雪の降る村の南の外れで木版画とクレヨン画を中心にゆっくりと作品をつくっています。

水性木版画は、日本の伝統的な技法です。
木の木目や彫ったあとが奏でる静かなリズム、水を含んだ和紙の呼吸。
心の奥に沈んだ思い出のように透明で、色を重ねるたび、かすかな温度がふっと立ちのぼります。
淡い色を一版、また一版…少しずつなんども重ねながら、沈んでいく感情を、遠い遠いキオクを…
それはきっと誰かに手紙を綴るような…。
静かに詩を紡ぐように、創作版画（自画自刻自摺）で作品作りをしています。

クレヨン画はマチエールを重ねることで色彩が呼吸しているような透明感生む独自の表現です。
ノスタルジックでセンチメンタル。楽しいのに賑やかなのに、どこか儚くて静かな世界。
灰色の感情は透明なひかりを吸い込み、夢のように揺れる漠然とした不安感をそっと抱く。
圧迫される色彩のなかで窒息しそうになりながらそれでもどうにか居心地のよい場所を探して…やっとみつけた——そんな世界です。

さびしさとあたたかさ、そのあいだに揺れる気持ちを、小さな物語をそっと手渡すように描いています。

秋田生まれ。多摩美術大学修士課程修了。

Chikako Muto At the southern edge of a snow-covered village, I quietly create my work,
focusing on woodblock prints and crayon drawings.

/Woodblock Prints Water-based woodblock printing is a traditional Japanese technique.
The quiet rhythm of the wood grain and carved lines,
the soft breath of washi paper holding water—
their presence brings forth something transparent,
like memories sunk deep within the heart.
With each layer of pale color, a faint warmth rises.
As I print one delicate layer, then another…
slowly, patiently, I trace sinking emotions, distant memories—
as if writing a letter to someone far away.
It is a way of composing poetry in silence,
creating original prints through the process of carving and hand-printing each piece myself.

/Crayon Drawings My crayon works are built by layering textures,
creating a unique expression with colors that seem to breathe.
Nostalgic and sentimental—
joyful and lively, yet somehow fleeting and quiet.
Gray emotions absorb transparent light,
holding softly a dreamlike, indistinct sense of unease.
Within colors that press in from all sides, almost suffocating,
I keep searching for a place that still feels livable…
and finally, I find it—
a small, tender world.

Between loneliness and warmth,
I paint feelings that sway gently,
handing them over like tiny stories offered in cupped hands.

Born in Akita.
Completed the Master’s Program at Tama Art University.
Held numerous solo and group exhibitions.
